Reference Books

The library has a number of reference books of potential use for research in this area. For example:

  • Gale Virtual Reference Library (see especially “Arts” category):  An online collection of premiere reference electronic books. You can search a single ebook or across an entire ebook collection.

Articles

In addition to Academic Search Complete, try the following:

  • Art Full Text: A bibliographic database that indexes and abstracts articles from periodicals published throughout the world. Full-text coverage for selected periodicals is also included.
  • Arts and Humanities: Indexes articles, bibliographies, editorials, letters, reviews, and more from the leading arts and humanities journals.
  • International Index to Music Periodicals (IIMP):  Resource for music periodicals available on the web. It enables you to find articles on a comprehensive variety of subjects about music from a wide range of scholarship.
  • JSTOR Language & Literature: JSTOR is a not-for-profit organization with a dual mission to create and maintain a trusted archive of important scholarly journals, and to provide access to these journals as widely as possible
  • MLA Intl. Bibliography: International database on language, literature, linguistics and folklore.
  • Project Muse: Project MUSE was launched in 1995 by the Johns Hopkins University Press, to offer full text of JHUP scholarly journals via the web.
  • PsycInfo: Psychological concepts and outcomes
  • Sociological Abstracts: Literature in sociology and related disciplines in the social and behavioral sciences.
