This guide provides basic information on business resources, including databases, electronic books, and Web sites. It is intended to serve as an introduction for undergraduate and MBA students.

The Pacific Library purchases electronic resources including databases, books, and journals. Students seeking to use these resources from off-campus must authenticate identity by entering their PacificNet ID and Password.
Academic Search Complete – Search for journal and magazine articles in all academic areas; many full-text.
Business Source Complete – Search for journal, trade, and magazine articles in business disciplines; many full-text.
CountryWatch – Find up-to-date information, news and demographics on countries of the world.
Historical Wall Street Journal – Search any keyword in the nation’s most respected business newspaper from1889 to 1989.
JSTOR Business – Access leading scholarly business journals in PDF back to their first issue, such as Management Science starting in 1954 and Accounting Review starting in 1926.
LexisNexis Academic Universe – Find state and federal laws. Database also contains “News” and “Business” sections containing thousands of full text publications from both domestic and foreign countries and markets. The “Business” section includes the popular Hoover’s company profiles and the ability to compare one company against another. Includes public SEC company filings.
Mint Global (Bureau van Dijk) – Detailed information and financials on public companies worldwide. Includes basis data and financials on more than 33 million American and foreign private companies. Industry reports, both U.S. and foreign, compiled by DataMonitor.
Regional Business News – More than 50 full text trade publications that cover regional and state news about companies and industries.
STAT-USA (U. S. Dept. of Commerce) – Find current and historical U.S. economic indicators and financial releases in “State of the Nation”. Access foreign country commercial guides and market research reports in “NTDB (National Trade Data Bank)”, while “GLOBUS” contains international daily trade leads and opportunities.
eBooks are accessible by searching the Library’s online catalog, PacifiCat, which also includes all print books and other materials such as CDs and DVDs.
e-JOURNALS is an alphabetical listing by title of scholarly journals and magazines received in electronic format. Search here by title to see if the Library has access to a particular title.
When surfing the Web, it is difficult to know which sites are appropriate for academic research. Listed below are several active projects that lead to hundreds of business and company sites selected and monitored based on criteria including currency of content; stability of content over a long period of time; quality and usefulness of content; ease of navigation; authority of author; and web site endorsement.
