New Tools for 2008-2009

The library has spent part of its summer vacation upgrading and customizing some of our most-used research tools! Everything's been given a fresh new look and we've done a lot of tweaking to the interfaces of the tools to make them more user-friendly.

Use this page to take the new tools for a test drive. Keep in mind some tools might still need a bit of spit and polish and might not be feature-complete yet. Be sure to let us know what you think!

Pacificat v19

The library's web catalog has gotten an extensive visual overhaul to make it easier to locate the resources you need.

  • Search from anywhere in the catalog pages
  • One-click access to e-books
  • Transfer citations to RefWorks
  • Book covers and Google Book previews available for some records
  • And more.
MetaSearch

We've replaced the MetaLib interface for finding articles and search databases with a faster and easier-to-use tool we call "MetaSearch".

  • Peer-reviewed articles indicated right on the results page.
  • Easily save records for your session
  • Add tags to your records
  • Citations automatically created in multiple styles
  • Export records to RefWorks with one click

E-Journals The E-Journals listings are as straightforward as ever. Now with a new look!
Databases When you know the database you want and just want to get to it, the new database look-up tool takes you there. No need to wade through unnecessary clutter. Give it a try!
